The secretary general of the organization of Islamic conference, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, is to visit the Gaza Strip on Sunday for a single day visit to inspect the devastation inflicted by the Israeli three weeks of war on the Strip.

The OIC had announced during its participation in the conference for donors in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, last month that it would donate 100 million dollars for the reconstruction of Gaza. It added that the sum would be collected from member countries" humanitarian organizations.

The OIC said that its general secretariat would coordinate with the Saudi Red Crescent society to hold a meeting for those humanitarian organizations to lay down a joint strategy for the reconstruction and rehabilitation process of the Strip.

The general secretariat opened a field office in El-Arish city in Egypt for logistics and storing in order to facilitate the transfer of humanitarian assistance into the Strip in cooperation with the Egyptian government.
