Women in Gaza rally at Rafah border crossing to protest its closure

The women sector in the Hamas Movement has called for a march on Saturday towards the closed Rafah terminal crossing with Egypt to demand its opening before civilian traffic.

Hamas called on women to participate in the march as part of its activities to demand the opening of that terminal.

The closure of the Rafah crossing had greatly affected the life of Palestinian citizens in the Gaza Strip especially the sick who are in need of treatment abroad due to lack of adequate health care in the Strip as a result of the Israeli siege that bans entry of enough and necessary medication into the Strip. 250 Palestinian patients have died over the past couple of years due to the siege and closure of all Gaza crossings.

Egyptian security men attacked the Palestinian women with water cannons and batons during a previous march also to protest the closure of the border terminal.
