The popular social network, Facebook, entered the laywers" election battle as supporters of Sameh "Ashour, Former President of the Lawyers" Syndicate and candidate for the same position, created a group called "Sameh "Ashour For Lawyers" President," which so far, by the time this article was being written, 129 had joined.

Competing with Facebook, strong publicity campaigns were launched on the streets surrounding the syndicate. On the one hand, the National Front headed by "Ashour posted a big ad on the syndicate"s façade asserting that he was the syndicate"s only hope.

On the other hand, ads of MP Tal"at El-Sadat competing for the same position were posted all over the streets surrounding the syndicate in addition to other well-known streets in a number of governorates.  The posters showed him dressed in the lawyer"s uniform with the picture of the Parliament"s dome above him calling people to vote for him.

The third candidate, Raja"y Attia, was satisfied with his website through which he conveys his background and ideas to others as he avoided public appearance especially after his recent appearance in the case of "The International News paper" in which he talked about the meetings between the American Embassy attaché and Sameh "Ashour requesting a national security investigation into the matter.

NDP members were the strangest as candidate for syndicate membership NDP MP Omar Hareedy imitated the MB slogan "Islam is the solution," announcing on all his flyers that his new slogan was "Commitment is the solution."

On the other hand, the Islamic Legislation Committee in the syndicate focused on intensifying their tours rather than publicity.

It seems that the streets and facebook will continue to compete after all other publicity means became victim to the repeated postponement of the administrative judiciary court ruling on lawyers" elections expected to be issued on October 26.
