Security Bars a Sit-in Organized By Al-Jazeera School Before Alex Governor’s Office

Dozens of the anti-riot police prevented more than 500 students, families, and teachers at the Al-Jazeera Islamic school from organizing a sit-in before the office of Alexandria’s governor on Monday.

The families of students decided to go through this sit-in against the security apparatus’ refusal to execute the rulings passed by the administrative judiciary court in case no. 15553 of 62 to end the security siege on the school and allow for the natural start of school year.

The demonstrators repeated many chants calling for the end of the siege and instigating the state security to abandon such heinous practices.

Many clashes and heated arguments took place between the demonstrators and the security forces. Security forces denied the people access to the governor’s office to raise their demands.

Talaat Fahmi (chairman of Al-Jazeera Islamic School) stressed that the families will go through three protests on Tuesday in Cairo before the People’s Assembly, the Ministry of Education (and try to meet the minister), and the Motherhood and Childhood Center.
