Prosecution Renews Detention Of Brotherhood Member
State Security Prosecution (SSP) renewed Thursday detention of Muslim Brotherhood member Abdul-Majid Amr from the
Prosecution charged him with joining an outlawed group and ordered him imprisoned for 15 days pending investigations.
After this period, Higher State Security Prosecution headed by Judge Hisham Badawi has ordered the renewal of his detention for another 15 days.
Higher State Security Prosecution has been for decades ordering the imprisonment of Brotherhood members after accusing them of the most common charge, namely joining the Muslim Brotherhood, an outlawed group.
This controversial charge has been refuted by many laws, since the law stipulates that it”s legal for anyone to join any group. It”s a right of thought and creed guaranteed by the constitution and international conventions.
