Bloggers call for “Public Tribunal” for 40 Egyptian Officials

Egyptian opposition internet bloggers called for a public tribunal for 40 high ranking members of the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) in Egypt as a reaction to the military rulings passed against 40 MB leading figures.


“Anti- NDP Bloggers Coalition called upon human rights and justice organizations to swiftly hold a public tribunal for forty high profile leaders of the ruling NDP including its prominent figures and supporters for the charges of leading and financing a popularly outlawed party, breach of law, violation of judicial authority, and rising against the country”s constitution.


The list includes: President Hosni Mubarak, as head of the NDP, his son Jamal Mubarak head of politics committee of the NDP, Premier Ahmad Nazif, Safwat Al-Sherief; Secretary General of the NDP and head of Shura council, Fathi Sorour; head of the People”s Assembly, Ahmad Ezz; Organization Secretary of the NDP, Mohamed Sayed Tantawi; Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Pope Shenouda III; Pope of Alexandria and the Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, Ministers of Interior, Finance, Man Labor, Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs, and many businessmen, professors, and former ministers.
