IOA turns historical mosque into a storehouse for construction materials

The Israeli occupation authority has turned the historical Souk Mosque in Tiberias into a storehouse for building materials after it was earlier used as a garbage dump.

Arab press in the 1948 occupied lands reported on Tuesday that downtown Tiberias was witnessing a facelift over the past months in a bid to attract tourists, but the reports noted that some of those renovations violate the sanctity of the ancient mosque.

The report pointed out that the mosque was built 270 years ago and was the target of repeated assaults on the part of fanatic Jews to the extent that it was used as a garbage dump before turning it recently into a storehouse for construction materials that are used in the facelift.

Another mosque called Bahar in Tiberias was the target of similar attacks in the past years including arson.
