Israeli air raid kills senior commander of Salahuddin Brigades

Israeli warplanes assassinated at noon Monday Amer Karmout, a senior leader of the Salahuddin Brigades, the armed wing of the popular resistance committees, in a missile raid targeting his car in Beit Lahia town, northern Gaza Strip.

Medical sources told the PIC that three casualties were whisked to the Kamal Odwan hospital in the town including Karmout (better known as Abul Sa”ed) who died of critical wounds he sustained in the raid.

Palestinian eyewitnesses reported that an Israeli reconnaissance plane targeted a civilian car near the Abu Obeida school, asserting that Israeli warplanes are still flying over the town.

Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman, considered the assassination of Karmout a serious Israeli escalation and continuation of the crimes and aggressions against the Palestinian people, underlining that these crimes only increase the resistance operations against the Israeli occupation.
