The State Security Police in Kafr Al-Zayat, Gharbiya, added more to the Egyptian violations to human rights after a state security officer, Walid Ammar, tortured a Muslim Brotherhood detainee this week using electric shocks and beating till he became deaf in one of his ears.

The State Security Police in Kafr Al-Zayat detained citizen Lotfi Mohamed Khalifa on May, 16, 2007 under the pretext that he possesses tapes of sheikh Amin Al Dib. He appeared before Basyoun prosecution that ordered him jailed for 15 days .

Although he was under prosecution custody, but he was detained in Basyoun police centre’s prison where officer Walid Ammar and Basyoun police chief, Tamer, continued torturing him for six full days. They were, starting from 12.00 midnight till 4.00AM, torturing him with electric shocking and beating, till he became deaf in one of his ears.

After six days of torture, he was moved to Tanta public prison on Monday, May 21, 2007, and he is currently in prison in a very deteriorated state of health .

Due to the very obvious traces of torture in his body, many people familiar with his case call on Human Rights Organizations to help in rescuing this innocent citizen of the daily tortures he is facing on a daily basis.
