Six human rights organizations have declared their rejection to the flagrant security intervention and use of violence against students who exercise student activities and express their opinions inside Egyptian universities, considering this as a flagrant violation of their right in the freedom of speech and their right to run their affairs .

A statement was issued on Tuesday by the Egyptian Association for Advancement through Social Partnership, the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information, the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights, the Nadeem Center for Psychological Therapy and Rehabilitation of the Victims of Violence and The Hisham Mubarak Law Center (HMLC), and the Association for Freedom of Thought & Expression- a copy of which was obtained by Ikhwanweb- in which they said that the current academic year witnessed many violations and arbitrary practices committed by the university administration and security services, the prominent of which were Ain Shams University incidents which witnessed unprecedented violence while facing student protests during elections .

The report pointed out that the university administration vetted students are backed by bullies inside the campus while assaulting and beating the demonstrating students, injuring a big number of them. Also 15 students were interrogated inside security offices and 9 others were sent to the prosecution that released them on the same day.

The report said also that the violence committed at Ain Shams wasn"t the only incident.
