Egyptian prosecution released students of the Agricultural Cooperation Institute and four MB leaders and blogger Abdul Moneim Mahmoud.

The Higher State Security Prosecution ordered on Wednesday releasing students of the Agricultural Cooperation Institute and four Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leaders and blogger Abdul Moneim Mahmoud.

The four MB leaders, who were detained pending the same case, are:
Dr. Mohamed Abdul Aal, assistant professor of plastic surgery at Ain Shams Faculty of Medicine
Dr. Salem Ramadan, a pharmacist
Eng. Nader Tawfik, engineering consultant.

The prosecution issued this decision ahead of the date in which they were scheduled to appear before it, next week .

For his part, Abdul Moneim Abdul Maqsoud, MB lawyer, welcomed the decision, confirming that, according to the decision, all MB detainees pending this case will be released.

The Higher State Security Prosecution had previously accused the students of organizing a paramilitary parade and joining an outlawed group, and accused the university professor of funding and organizing the paramilitary parade.

For his part, Islam Lotfi, lawyer of Abd Al-Moneim, said in a statement to Ikhwanweb that the release decision was a surprise exactly like the detention decision. Abd Al-Moneim’s detention took place without any reason and he is now released without any reasons known to lawyers .

Lotfi pointed out that releasing Abd Al-Moneim can be considered a huge success for bloggers and international campaigns launched in solidarity with Abd Al-Moneim who was detained because of his opinions .

Lotfi demanded international organizations, civil society institutions and human rights activists to seek more methods to exercise pressure on the Egyptian regime to release the detainees.

Lotfi added that Abd Al-Moneim and fellow detainees are expected to actually released next Saturday.

Ikhwanweb congratulates colleague Abd Al-Moneim on his release to go back home and back to his weblog, ana ikhwan, that has gained huge popularity in a very short period. The web site thanks every  one who used his voice, pen, weblog or even sympathetic eyes to show solidarity with and demanded the release of Moneim.

Ikhwanweb hopes all other political detainees be released and that releasing Moneim becomes a shift in the relation between the Muslim Brotherhood and the Egyptian regime and the course in the country.
