Guards of all gates of Al Fayyum university are conducting a body search on female students, specially veiled ones, under direct supervision from the state security. Female students and their fathers were summoned to appear before officer 2006 at the Security Directorate, forcing a huge number of female students to send letters and telegraphs appealing for help to the presidency, the Interior Minister, the Minister of Higher Education and the University President in protest at the security harassments.

On the other hand, names of many guest female students were stricken off lists of those living in the university dormitory that started to accept students from Monday Oct, 1st, 2007, according to the grades. Female students with a pass grade were accepted while female students with very good grade were denied lodging. This is the first time that such action is committed against female students although it was previously committed many times against male ones.
