In spite of the court rulings ordering the release of many detained Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leaders in prisons of the Egyptian regime, but many MB leaders are still detained without any legal foundation.

This includes Dr. Mahmoud Ghozlan, a member of the MB Executive Office, who was detained seven months ago, and he was acquitted by court last Wednesday, Oct., 3rd, 2007. However, the Interior Ministry did not implement the court ruling so far.

Mohamed Ghozlan, son of Dr. Mahmoud Ghozlan, said in a statement to Ikhwanweb that the Interior Ministry is still lagging and submitting appeals against court rulings in order to extend the prison detention as long as possible .

Ghozlan Jr. said the MB lawyer Abdul Moneim Abdul Maqsoud submitted a challenge after his father was arrested immediately after releasing him. The challenge was approved and a ruling acquitting him was issued. However, the acquittal hasn"t been implemented.

The son said that his father is doing well and that his health is stable.
