The Moslem Brotherhood comes on the top of the most popular political parties and movements in spite of the security tight measures and pursuits exercised on it.

In connection with the capacity of the political powers to stimulate the citizens to take part in the political life, the Moslem Brotherhood occupies the first rank among the opposing powers, and just proceeded by the National Democratic Party. This order, based upon the number of members and supporters along with having parliamentary favorite candidates, is published in today’s issue of the daily newspaper Al-Ahram.

The report draws on the parliamentary election of 2000. The report mentioned that the Moslem Brotherhood holds the first place with 750.000 members. El-Wafd Party comes secondly with 31.000 members, followed by el- Tagamoa Party with 22.000 members, Nasserian Araby Party with 3170 members and el-Gad Party with 2750. El-Geel Party holds the last rank with only 75 members.

The report also adds that the members of the NDP amount to 19.00000. Thus, the real number of the participants in the Egyptian political life does not exceed 28.00000; most of them are dedicated to the NDP and the Moslem Brotherhood.

The report expects that the Moslem Brotherhood will appoint a large number of candidates to contest for the upcoming parliamentary elections. In addition, the report anticipates that numerous candidates of the Moslem Brotherhood will win in these elections.
