Details of Sunday’s MB Military Court Session

The third session of the military tribunal for 39 Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leaders was held on Sunday under heavy security presence.

Several human rights activists and lawyers, including former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark, were denied access to the court room.

During the trial session that started at 2.00PM, businessman Hassan Malek who is among the 40 MB leaders facing the military trial, was stunned by 108 bullets among the sequestered items shown in front of today”s session. Malek denied that these bullets were taken from his house. He confirmed this also during the prosecution investigations .

For his part, Dr. Ibrahim Saleh, a member of the defence team and lawyer of Hassan Malek, confirmed in a statement to Ikhwanweb, that these alleged bullets will have no legal effect on the course of the case. This is because it is a money laundry case amd there is no relation between money laundering and seizing several bullets. Those who claimed to have seized these bullets haven”t seized a pistol with which these claimed bullets shall be fired, to add more to the file of political foolishness on which this groundless case is established.

Saleh ruled out that the court may convict the detainees of violence because of these alleged bullets .

Saleh confirmed also that three is no criminal suspicion against items which were sequestered from the house of engineer Khairat Al-Shater, saying they are only some religious books .

During his pleading before the court, Saleh said that all charges are groundless because they are based on only police investigations. These investigations can”t be considered as evidences of their own in criminal cases. Dr. Ibrahim Saleh expressed his astonishment before the court, saying:” How come that 40 MB leaders, including 10 university professors, are arrested according to only twenty five-day investigations.

Hazem Salah Abu Ismail, another member of the defence team, told Ikhwanweb that “this court is a farce”.”After the defence team lodged a lawsuit in front of the Constitutional Court demanding immediately preventing these judges from hearing the case, the judge refused to hear their pleading.

Salah Abu Ismail said that engineer Khairat Al-Shater delivered a speech that made all people cry. Al Shater wondered about their fate while they have been unjustly referred to successive military tribunals since 1995.

Al Shater narrated in his speech what happened to him in 1995 when he and fellow MB leaders were sentenced to 3-5 years. “Expect punishment from Allah. Beware of the prayer of the oppressed, for there is no veil between such a prayer and God.

After that, the court saw the items sequestered from houses of ten detainees, including engineer Khairat Al-Shater, Dr. Abd Al-Rahman Saudi, Hassan Malek, Essam Hashish and engineer Ahmed Shousha.

Abu Ismail confirmed that some of the sequestered items presented to the court don”t belong to Hassan Malek, some others belong to some companies which aren”t owned by him and other items are sealed in which that the court doesn”t approve.

The arrest warrant revealed that only one single officer carried out all these investigations against the forty MB detainees, officer Ahmed Magdi. This raised many eyebrows among the defence team, detainees and their families regarding this person who carried out all these investigated without any help from any one!!!.
The court still sees sequestered items of other detainees.
