“Children for Freedom” Participates In Anti- Imperialism Conference

Cairo will see next Saturday the official declaration of “Children For Freedom” movement during a press conference on the sidelines of the fifth conference for resisting imperialism held in Cairo next Thursday in the Press Syndicate.

The movement started during its first activity two weeks ago in Al-Azhar park where a day of entertainment was organized for children of the reformists who are currently detained and referred to military tribunals.

Mrs. Zahraa Al Shater, the general coordinator of the movement said the idea of founding movement emerged when our children were terrified when they saw predawn visitors -state security police- arresting their fathers and uncles, and the horror and intimidation as a result of the raids, searches and confiscating money. Zahra added that she was moved by the overflowing emotions by these children due to these scenes; thus they decided to establish the movement so that these children can express their feelings and to exercise their right in demanding freedom for their fathers.

Zahraa said they will attend the activities of the fifth Cairo conference to explain the issue to all people “we have a fair cause and will not stop short of defending it, we will also hold elections to choose heads of committees for this movement from among the little children and will include children of all political prisoners in Egypt to this movement”

For his part, Ibrahim El-Houdaiby a board member of ikhwanweb, said that children”s association for change will participate in the activities of the fifth Cairo conference of the International Campaign Against the American and Zionist Occupation; we will declare the constitutive conference of children association for change, elections on leading the association, and a press conference in which the constitutive statement of the association will be declared, in addition to holding a demonstration against transferring civilians to military courts; all this will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2007, at 11:30 am.

El-Houdaiby pointed out that the association will hold many activities in the near future.
