MB Warns U.S. Against Attacking Iran

MB Warns U.S. Against Attacking Iran

Dr. Essam Al Erian, a leading figure within the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), warned the U.S. government against attacking Iran in attempt to cripple its peaceful nuclear program “the neocons in the U.S. government are still insisting on the ill fated policy of pre-emptive strikes which failed so miserably in Iraq" Al Erian said.

Attacking Iran will distablize the region

He also stated that such an imminent attack, if it happened, will only benefit Israel and it will not serve America’s strategic interests in the region."The world now came to realize that any new war will certainly pose a risk to humanity and will drag the whole region deep into suffering".

Iran is not Iraq

Dr. Al Erian added that Iran is not Iraq “Iran has many pressure cards at its disposal; not only it can make things in Iraq worse for the U.S., but also it is able to threaten the security of the whole Gulf region"

Nuclear disarmament starts with Israel

Dr. Elrian questioned the U.S. intentions by singling out Iran "If the U.S. is serious about nuclear disarmament; why it does not start with Israel and get it to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty so the whole region can live in peace!"

MB is against use of WMDs

Dr. El Erian reaffirmed the MB stance on the nuclear proliferation issue" The Muslim Brotherhood supports the use of nuclear power for civilian purposes and reject possessing
Weapons of mass destruction"
