Arab Doctors’ Union Ponders Relief Projects In Lebanon

The Arab Doctors’ Union prepares for a number of relief related activities which start with dispatching a delegation to Lebanon Thursday August 17, 2006, headed by Union Chairman Dr. Abdul Monem Abul Fetouh, who is also an MB Executive Bureau member. The visit comes in the context of the Union’s relentless efforts to extend material and moral support to the Lebanese and Palestinian people, as well as offering congratulations for the Lebanese people on its victory in the recent battles with Israel. Dr. Abul Fetouh is accompanied by representatives of the Union from other Arab countries including Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait and Syria. The Union earlier this week dispatched a relief delegation to about 100 Palestinians who stay in the open in Al Areesh Airport, providing them with necessary foods, sleeping mattresses and other accommodation to get themselves by until they return to their homes in Gaza. In an exclusive statement to Ikhwanweb, Dr. Abul Fetouh said that this visit mainly aims to launch numerous relief projects in Lebanon estimated at about $ 455000, for provision of medicines, two mobile hospitals, school needs, charity bags of the month of Ramadan, in addition to a project for reconstruction and restoring one of the south Lebanon hospitals.  Following its return from Lebanon, the Union delegation will hold a press conference Monday August 22, 2006, at the Cairo-based Doctors Union, to put the local and Arab Public opinion in the picture as regards the relief projects the Union intends to launch in Lebanon and to spur the public into participating in the fund raising campaign for this very purpose.
