Egypt Pro-Democracy National Alliance Calls “Enough Disasters” Protest Week
Invariably, whenever Egypt’s coup commander Sisi feels a surge in public anger, he resorts to foreign capitals for support in exchange for multi-billion dollar deals that Egypt has no need for.
This is exactly what happened in his recent visit to France, where he paid billions of dollars in the Rafale and Mistral transactions, which the Egyptian army has no need for. However, these deals are the price for political support from the French president, who actually condoned the violations of human rights in Egypt, contradicting the very basic principles on which the French Republic was built and to the values of freedom and democracy France preaches across the globe.
By embracing the junta’s general Sisi and ignoring his human rights violations, France has proved that it is no longer the protector of liberties but the protector of tyrannical despots willing to pay their peoples’ money in exchange for French support – money, incidentally, which is desperately needed for basic services for the people.
During his press conference in Paris, general Sisi acknowledged that Egypt lacks quality education, health and housing services, yet he spends billions of dollars on military and other deals that Egypt does not need at all. He will do more such deals, which will crush Egypt’s future generations, every time his popularity falls.
Despite his recognition of all this failure in providing basic services to the Egyptian citizen, which have particularly deteriorated over the past four years after Sisi’s coup and power-grab, he instructed the hypocrites and beneficiaries of his rule to organize an early campaign to support his takeover of power for another four years through the launch of a media campaign claiming the importance of his presence to build Egypt, although he is the main culprit destroying it. Indeed, every day that passes with Egypt under his rule will escalate the damage.
Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance calls for a new revolutionary week entitled "Enough Destruction". Egypt cannot bear any more of such destruction and failure in all areas.
