FJP Leader Dardery Condemns Imprisonment of Egyptian Activist Alaa Abdel-Fattah

Dr AbdulMawgoud Dardery, Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) leader, condemned the jailing of Egyptian activist Alaa Abdel-Fattah, and called upon all patriotic Egyptians to close ranks, unite and complete the January 25, 2011 Revolution.

"We should all unite to face corrupt institutions, to restore the January 25 spirit once again for all Egyptians, to chant together today once again as in court Monday, in Alaa Abdel-Fattah’s trial: "Free Revolutionaries… We Will Complete The Journey".

In his official page on Facebook, Dr Dardery said the leaked recording of the coup’s Interior Minister, in which the latter affirms that Police strongly supported the June 30, 2013 maneuver, proved it was a conspiracy against popular free will.

"Today’s leaked audio recording of the most heinous thug – otherwise known as the junta’s Interior Minister – is clear evidence that June 30, 2013 was a conspiracy against the free will of the Egyptian people, executed in co-ordination and cooperation with the military junta."

Earlier on Monday, Al-Jazeera satellite TV station broadcast a new leaked audio recording of Mohamed Ibrahim, the coup regime’s Minister of Interior, in which he reveals that the army and police conspired to overthrow the legitimate President Mohamed Morsi, by mobilizing for and supporting the so-called June 30, 2013 demonstrations.

The leaked recording included a conversation between the junta’s Interior Minister Ibrahim and his officers during a meeting with leaders of the police towards the end of last year – most likely – which confirmed that he met with officers before June 30 (2013) and that the army and police forces were strongly supportive of these demonstrations, which would not have succeeded otherwise.

Also on Monday, an Egyptian court sentenced Alaa Abdel-Fattah, the Egyptian activist, to 5 years in prison – an unjust sentence against Egyptian youth.
