FJP’s Soudan: Anti-Coup Revolution Still Steadfast; National Alliance Welcomes All in Peaceful Struggle

FJP’s Soudan: Anti-Coup Revolution Still Steadfast; National Alliance Welcomes All in Peaceful Struggle

Mohamed Soudan, Foreign Relations Secretary of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP, the Muslim Brotherhood’s political arm), said the Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance never stopped active, peaceful revolutionary action since the coup, despite the junta’s arbitrary arrests, extremely exaggerated  rulings and sentences, and the prosecution’s and the judiciary’s treatment of demonstrators in an unprecedented repressive manner.

In a statement to Ikhwanweb, Soudan added: "The Muslim Brotherhood and the Alliance did not and will not stop participation in the revolutionary movement – until the bloody military junta is fully defeated and completely ousted, and fair retribution is achieved".

With regard to groups wanting to join in the revolutionary movement against the military junta, Soudan said: "As for other political forces that did not participate in this movement since Al-Sisi’s coup against legitimacy, and which has now decided to join us in the revolutionary movement, we welcome any group or faction that wishes to join us in a peaceful struggle against Al-Sisi and his cronies".
