Pro-Democracy National Alliance Demands Fair Retribution for All Revolution Martyrs

The Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance issued the following statement with regard to the fourth revolutionary wave of peaceful protests in Egypt "Retribution is Our demand" starting Thursday – August 14:

In memory of the treasonous inhuman massacres, all Egypt has become one with the Revolution, right from the first hours of Thursday. All streets and public squares are ablaze with raging rallies. Revolutionaries have indeed persisted and persevered in commitment to peaceful protest and maximum self-restraint, notwithstanding junta forces’ unrestrained violence and terror that claimed the lives of many new martyrs across Egypt today.

Protesting crowds flooded the whole country in millions, demanding retribution and telling the murderous junta to leave, in a tremendous strong start for the fourth revolutionary wave. Blessed are the revolutionaries – the honorable men and women of Egypt.

We promised that the whole of Egypt will be Rabaa and Nahda squares for anti-coup protests. We promised that the illegitimate junta will never be allowed to rest on the blood of the martyrs. We promised that we will not compromise and will not sell the blood of our honorable martyrs. All these are indeed happening now. We have not forgotten and will not forget, whatever the sacrifices.

The voice of the people is evident in all public squares. The revolutionary wave is still in its beginning and the protests in the street continue, until all the demands are met, no matter how long it takes. Judicious officials should take heed now and listen to the voice and the demands of the people.

By order of the Revolution, all girls and children, all the sick and students must be released immediately as a prelude to the release of all detainees.

By order of the Revolution, the military must step back and commit to its sacred duty of protecting the homeland or head back to the barracks, and all obstacles in the way of prompt retribution from the murderers must be removed so all those responsible for the massacres of Egyptians should be held to task.

The streets are ours… Retribution is our demand… Freedom is our goal.
