Egypt Pro-Democracy Alliance Calls ‘Retribution Revolt’ Peaceful Protest Escalation

The Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance issued the following statement on Saturday:

The people of Egypt are still steadfast on the true path of democratic transformation, persistent in their challenge to the brutal murderous putschists. They marched in all governorates across Egypt on Friday, at the start of the "Martyrs Day" week of peaceful protests, chanting in support of the resistance in the Gaza Strip and the demands of the January 2011 Revolution.

Moreover, Egyptians have said it loud that they see the failed actor Al-Sisi’s insistence to destroy Egypt, to corrupt the people’s life and religion, and to lay to waste the nation’s rights, is clearly a horrid heinous crime.

The raging people of Egypt are preparing for the "Retribution Revolt" protests on the anniversary of the Rabaa and Nahda massacres. They will devote the forthcoming Eid (end-of-Ramadan) activities for that huge event, and for renewing their pledge to the martyrs on the anniversary of the podium (Manasseh) massacre.

The people on the streets solemnly salute and send to the Gaza resistance and the martyrs greetings from the land of Egypt to the land of pride, affirming that our blood is one and the same, and that the aggressors in Egypt, Gaza and the West Bank may have different faces, but the same black burning hateful heart.

The Palestinian resistance has made good progress and imposed its will. Its rockets and bullets have uncovered the shameful puppet Arab regimes and their shameful heavily-equipped armies. The resistance has recorded a new victory, to please the whole nation ahead of the end-of-Ramadan Eid. Blessed are Gaza’s resistance fighters and blessed are Egypt’s revolutionaries.

Martyrs killed since January 25, 2011 until now, those of Tahrir Square, Rabaa and Nahda sit-in camp massacres, Mohamed Mahmoud Street, Abbasseya, Itehadia Palace, the Republican Guard Officers’ Club and the podium (Manasseh), Rafah and Farafra massacres, as well as all those martyrs killed in Gaza, Damascus and Baghdad, await fair retribution.

Now, we all know who our enemies are, and who are the heinous deceivers, the traitors and the agents working for those enemies. We are firmly committed to our pledge to the martyrs. We endeavor for decisive revolutionary action to achieve the people’s demands and wrest the martyrs’ rights, using non-violent tools of effective popular resistance. We support every victory for the truth in the region that will route Zionists and their agents.

The National Alliance will take all necessary action until it achieves ultimate victory, God willing. The Alliance calls on youth and students to take the lead in the escalation of the revolutionary action on August 14. They are to take appropriate measures, as they see fit, to advance the goals of the Revolution without abandoning its ideals and principles.

The Alliance further warns the treasonous putschists against creating an imaginary world in their minds in order to spill even more Egyptian blood. That should only increase the speed of their downfall and accelerate the toppling of the evil junta.

Our rendezvous is August 14.

The resistance is stronger; the Revolution continues; and the aggressors must go.

Martyrs Day.. will bear witness to the Revolution, steadfastness and resistance until victory and ultimate liberation.
