Pro-Democracy National Alliance Presser Calls Peaceful Protest Action Sunday, January 26

Pro-Democracy National Alliance Presser Calls Peaceful Protest Action Sunday, January 26

The Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance confirms that all protest activities on Sunday are to start in the afternoon from the  same assembly points in Cairo announced earlier, and urges persistence in peaceful revolutionary action in the governorates.

The National Alliance understands and appreciates the mounting anger among the masses rising against the unspeakable terror crimes of the fascist putschists’ murderous militias. Egyptians look forward to fair and proper retribution, and desire a decisive shift in the revolt against the repressive junta. The coalition asserts the right of everyone to use all possible peaceful means of legitimate self-defense, while it urges all to commit to the standards and controls of creative peaceful resistance.

The National Alliance confirms that it does not reject any innovative efforts or any escalation of the revolutionary action to defeat the falsehood and stop ongoing crimes of genocide, so long as all remain committed to peaceful non-violence and civil resistance. The coalition further stresses that the current revolutionary wave will persist until victory, until it defeats the coup. "Victory comes only from God" (Quran; 3:126).

The Alliance renews confidence in youth leadership in revolutionary activities on the ground. Despite the enormous sacrifices Saturday, youth proved they are the epitome of decisiveness required today. Evidently, Egyptian youths are the future of this country and its leadership that will save it from sedition and strife, while the coup criminals slide fast into a fateful dark abyss.

Allah is Great… Down with the regime: the generals, the corrupt judiciary, the treacherous media
