Egypt ‘Youth Against The Coup’ Calls General Strike, Mass Demonstrations Sunday, September 22

The Youth Against The Coup movement’s media spokesman affirmed that Egypt’s youth, who led the Revolution of January 25, 2011 and toppled the head of the regime, is able to complete the Revolution, oust the repressive old regime’s remnants and cronies, and achieve the goals of the Revolution.

He stressed that the success of the Revolution requires fair and prompt trials for all murderers and criminals and expeditious retribution for the martyrs. He further stressed that young people would not hand over their future to a group of murderous coup oligarchs.

Speaking on behalf of the Revolutionary Youth coordinating committee and the Youth Against The Coup movement, the media spokesman called the masses of the Egyptian people, especially Egypt’s youth and college students, who are already rising up in the second wave of the January 25 Revolution, to start a general strike on Sunday, September 22.

He urged all citizens and youths to join mass demonstrations that will take to the streets also on Sunday, September 22 from early morning, to make a most decisive stand and a most memorable day for the Revolution. He further called for mass marches to merge in one public square that will be determined and announced soon.
