Muslim Brotherhood’s Aref Mourns Death of 24 Security Soldiers in Egyptian Rafah

Dr. Ahmed Aref, Muslim Brotherhood media spokesman and Anti-Coup Alliance leader, said the killing of 24 soldiers of the security forces in Rafah, in North Sinai, is another unfortunate calamity no less in its enormity than the deaths of at least 37 peaceful protesters in custody at Abu Zaabal prison.

In a post on his Facebook page, Aref said: "I cannot rule out the possibility that this mass killing of Egyptian people may be meant to cover up the serious development of blatantly targeting Egyptians for bloody physical liquidation, as happened in Abu Zaabal prison Sunday where dozens of martyrs were killed while in transitional police custody.

"God is our Protector. He is the best Guardian against all these abhorrent manifestations of terror targeting innocent people and killing unarmed citizens. I urge the Egyptian people to pray for the martyrs of yesterday and also of Monday morning."
