In a statement, Yasser Mehrez, a spokesman for the Muslim Brotherhood, stressed that Egypt’s current crises are due to "the coup-minded opposition seeking to overthrow the elected president and his government regardless of any consequences, and certain hostile media determined to cause crisis and spread despair, frustration and suspicion, in addition to some foreign powers that do not want Egypt to progress or prosper.

"Egypt’s media must be encouraged to focus on the positives and achievements made by the government, to face up to the tremendous frustration, despair and suspicion served to the Egyptian people by most media institutions."

The Muslim Brotherhood spokesman added, "The Egyptian citizen suffers several problems that we are all very aware of, recognize and endeavor to resolve.

"Meanwhile, in their evaluation of the government’s performance, citizens should distinguish between problems resulting from the failure of this government and the problems inherited from previous regimes that for long decades robbed the country's wealth."
