In a press statement, on Sunday, Dr. Mahmoud Ghozlan, media spokesman of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, strongly condemned the brutal massacre of innocent Syrian civilians in Houla at the hands of the Assad regime.
“The Brotherhood has been deeply shocked and dismayed to witness the atrocious massacres committed by the Syrian regime, which far exceeds barbaric crimes of infamous Hulagu and Genghis Khan.
“This bloodiest episode of Assad’s era has claimed the lives of thousands of men and women, the elderly and children, especially the most recent massacre of Houla that tore apart the bodies of young children and their entire families. The Brotherhood strongly condemns these heinous crimes.
“The Brotherhood calls on Arab, Islamic and world governments as well as Arab and international institutions, and all the peoples of the free world to intervene to stop these massacres, especially after the failure of international monitors to halt the atrocities.”
In conclusion, Dr. Ghozlan said: “The Brotherhood further calls on the noble Syrian people to put aside their differences and close ranks in order to overthrow the totalitarian regime, make revolution succeed and free the heroic Syrian People, who sacrificed thousands of martyrs without fear or hesitation”.
