Dr. Mahmoud Ghozlan, media spokesman of the Muslim Brotherhood, said it was acceptable to bring forward the presidential elections.

Dr. Ghozlan welcomed the idea of holding presidential elections in parallel with writing the new constitution by the Constituent Assembly, saying, "This should be acceptable".

In a statement to Ikhwanweb, Dr. Ghozlan stipulated that this acceleration of events and that proposal should be consistent with the Constitutional Declaration.

This statement was made in his commentary on the recommendation put forward by the Advisory Board for starting the process of registering presidential candidates on 23 February 2012, in order to allow political forces enough time to prepare adequately for the elections and to reassure public opinion.
