The Democratic Alliance for Egypt (DA) led by the Justice and Freedom Party (JFP) is in a meeting convened now at the FJP’s headquarters, in Manyal, to discuss ways to escalate action against the unfortunate bloody clashes the country witnessed recently.

The meeting, chaired by Dr. Wahid Abdel Meguid, is also to discuss many initiatives launched Tuesday about the peaceful transition of power and expediting presidential elections or selecting a temporary president through the People’s Assembly, ahead of parliamentary “Shura Council” elections.

According to emerging information, the conferees are to release a statement on the issues raised, and then join the news conference expected Tuesday evening to announce their escalation activities against the developments of the violent Cabinet clashes.

A number of MPs and political leaders performed a protest sit-in, Tuesday, in front of the Egyptian Press Syndicate, with the participation of Dr. Mohamed Beltagy. Dr. Osama Yassin, Dr. Amr Hamzawy, Dr. Mustafa Najjar, Hamdin Sabbahi, Dr. Ayman Nour, and Dr. Wahid Abdel Meguid. They had to move the proposed sit-in from the Supreme Judiciary House after objections by pro-SCAF groups.
