Dr. Mohamed Beltagy, from the Freedom and Justice Party’s (FJP) Executive Bureau in Cairoasserted, that the party desires a cohesive national coalition rather than a Muslim Brotherhood (MB), or Islamist majority in the new parliament.

Speaking at a campaign stop to over 5000, in North Qalyubeya Friday night with several FJP candidates, Beltagy stressed that time has come for all to pledge service to the nation and its people.

Beltagy slammed the attacks by businessman Naguib Sawiris who utilised his privately owned channels in causing sedition and circulating rumours against Islamist parties in particular the Muslim Brotherhood (MB). “Sawiris’ efforts to advocate sedition and strife are lame. We have to respect one another and to defend the rights of all Egyptians”.  Several FJP candidates running in Qalyubeya were present at the rally, including Abd Allah Elewa, Dr. Hoda Ghaney, Mohamed Bayoumi, Hamed Mokhtar Helbawy, Shady Taha, Eng. Hassan Al-gamal and Ezzat Almalahy.
