FJP Press Release No. (10) – Sorting Results

Sorting results for the first phase of parliamentary elections continued to roll in. Final results revealed victory of Dr. Akram Al Sha’er The Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) candidate for ‘individuals’ - professionals seat in Port Said, after winning 146,000 votes – that is 90,000 votes ahead of his nearest rivals. Meanwhile, the party’s candidate, in the same constituency, for the ‘workers’ seat was unsuccessful.
With this result, the FJP won two seats in the first round, so far:
1 - Dr. Akram Al Sha’er – Port Said - professionals.
2 - Ramadan Omar - Helwan (Cairo) - workers.
Facing run-off elections are 41 FJP and Democratic Alliance candidates in the various governorates:
1 - Cairo (9 candidates):
Engaged in run-off elections are: Amr Zaki and Yasser Abdullah (Al-Qubba and Al-Zaytoun – professionals and workers), Mohamed Yousry – Democratic Alliance – and Essam Mokhtar (Nasr City - professionals and workers) (before the decision of the election committee to recount Essam Mokhtar’s votes), Amr Khidr and Mustafa Farghali (Qasr Al-Neil - professionals and workers), Khalid Hassan (Heliopolis - workers), as well as Khalid Mohamed and Nasr Osman (Al-Jamaleya - professionals and workers).
There are still 3 constituencies which have not announced results so far, namely the first, fifth and eighth constituencies ‘individuals’ where counting is under way until now.
2 - Alexandria (8 candidates):
Facing run-off voting are: Mustafa Mohamed Mustafa and Hosni Dowidar – Democratic Alliance (Montaza - professionals and workers), and Counsellor Mahmoud al-Khodeiri – Democratic Alliance – and Mohammadi Syed Ahmed (Al-Raml - workers), Mahmoud Attia and Saber Abu Fotouh (Karmouz - professionals and workers), as well as Dr. Hamdi Hassan and Mahmoud Mohamed Mahmoud (Mina al-Basal - professionals and workers).
3 - Kafr El-Sheikh (5 candidates):
Engaged in run-off elections are: Taha Mansour (Kafr El-Sheikh - workers), Mohamed Al-Halisi and Mohammed Idris (Desouk - professionals and workers), as well as Mohammad Aamir and Ashraf Al-Saeed (Al-Burolus - professionals and workers).
4 - Damietta (3 candidates):
Facing run-off elections are: Ali Al-Daey and Mohammed Ahmed Abu Mussa (Damietta - professionals and workers), as well as Mohamed Al-Filahji (Kafr Saad - professionals).
5 - Fayoum (6 candidates):
Facing run-off elections are: Osama Yahya and Sayyed Gabr (Fayoum - professionals and farmers), Jamal Mohamed Hassan and Fawzi Ali Abdul Aziz Al-Yamani (Snuras - professionals and workers), as well as Hamdi Taha and Adel Ismail (Bandar Fayoum - professionals and farmers).
6 - Assiut Governorate (8 candidates):
Facing run-off elections are: Samir Khashaba, and Mustafa Ali Hassan (Assiut - professionals and workers), Mohamed Salama Bakr Abdel Wahed and Mohamed Madar Moussa Mohamed Mousa (Dayrout - workers and professionals), Abdul Aziz Khalaf Mohammed Ali and Abdullah Sadiq Nasr (Al-Fateh - professionals and workers), as well as Hassan Ali Abdul-Aal Aamir and Abdul Aziz Mohamed Ibrahim Mansour (Abu Tiej - professionals and workers).
7 - Luxor (one candidate):
Engaged in run-off elections is: Dr. Abdul Mawjood Rajeh (professionals).
8 - Red Sea (one candidate):
Facing run-off elections is: Mohamed Mahmoud Youssef Ahmed (Hurghada - professionals).
