FJP: Roadmap Welcome Despite Flaws

FJP: Roadmap Welcome Despite Flaws

Freedom and Justice Party leader Dr. Mohamed Beltagy welcomed the long awaited announcement of a timeline for the elections, although he believed there were some flaws in the decree.

In a telephone call to AlJazeera satellite channel Tuesday, Beltagy said “Although the revolution toppled the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP), no steps have been taken to hold its members accountable of corruption. Furthermore, the dismembered party has cloned six political parties made up of the same members planning to take part in the elections in an effort to counter the revolution and its achievements.”

Discussing the Emergency law, he stressed that the FJP rejected its reinstatement or the forming of any other new laws which opposed the will of the people. “The political forces will meet Wednesday in an effort to agree on methods to unite and  overcome the current phase and its challenges,” he stated.
