MB & FJP Members Mediate Between Muslims and Copts in Minia, Ending Violence

Members from the Muslim Brotherhood and Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) intervened to end clashes which took place on Sunday between a number of Muslims and Copts in an Upper Egypt village of Nazlet Faragallah, where firearms were used resulting in the death of a Copt and three injuries among Muslims.

According to FJP leader Dr. Amin Maghazy in the Minia governorate, the brawls ended as a result of the group’s mediation, and all involved were prepared to negotiate in a civil manner without resorting to violence.

Meghazy denied the violence was sign of increased religious tension between Muslims and Coptic Christians, adding that these issues can be solved through peaceful dialogue, as it was in this case.
