FJP Condemns Arab and International Silence on Massacres by Syrian Regime

Slamming the massive military operation underway in Syria, Dr. Gamal Heshmat a leader with the Freedom and Justice Party, criticised Syria’s President Bashar and his methods in crushing the seeds of revolt.

Heshmat condemned the massacre which since anti-regime protests erupted in Syria in mid-March, has resulted in the deaths of more than 1,640 civilians in addition to 25,000 arrests. Reports also confirm that over 3000 citizens are missing. According to reports at least another 25 people were killed during Friday’s protest billed “Your silence kills us”.

Speaking to Ikhwanweb Heshmat criticised the Arab League, and the Arab and International apathy and silence regarding the bloody developments in Syria stating that it must not continue under any circumstances. Fearing  a recurrence  particularly in Hama which has previously witnessed massacres in the 1980’s, where an estimated 20,000 people were killed in Hama when the army cracked down on dissent he called on all concerned to address the current situation. It was imperative he stressed the world support the Syrian people to overcome the ordeal they are going through as soon as possible.

Heshmat claimed that although Bashar has turned on his people history has proved that the end of every dictatorial tyrant never ends well and the people will prevail.
