Lieberman: Israel will not apologize to Turkey

Israeli foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman has announced that his government would not apologize to Turkey over the deadly naval attack on the Freedom Flotilla aid convoy to Gaza that killed nine Turkish activists.

He said during a meeting with Israeli ambassadors to foreign countries on Sunday that Turkey’s request for an apology was "rude".

"There will be no apology from our side, Turkey is the one that should apologize for supporting terrorism," he said.

Turkish foreign minister Ahmet Davuto?lu said on Saturday that there would be no improvement in relations with Israel unless it apologizes over the killing of the nine Turkish nationals and pays financial compensations to their families.
