State security continue wave of arrests hauling in 4 more MB leaders
State security continued its fierce security crackdown this time in the governorate of Beheira. The homes of 5 Muslim Brotherhood leaders were raided at dawn in the city of Kafr El Dawar and 3 members were arrested.
The political detainees were transported to Kafr El Dawar’s State security headquarters where it is expected they will be brought before prosecution later this evening.
The massive campaign targeting MB leaders directly followed the MB chairman Dr. Mohamed Badie’s announcement over the weekend that the group would take part in the parliamentary elections slated for November.
In a related context security forces late last night arrested Fathi Taha, another MB leader from Kafr El-Dawar, and his driver, at a police checkpoint on the outskirts of Alexandria along the Cairo-Alexandria Freeway. Taha’s car was confiscated and he was taken to Alexandria charged with the accusations the MB has become accustomed to. He will be brought before prosecution later today.
