Beshr: Time has come for the dictatorial regime to let go

Dr. Mohamed Beshr, Secretary General of the Engineers Syndicate and member of the Muslim Brotherhood Executive Bureau, stressed that the spread of corruption in Egypt on all levels is the normal outcome of a failed system, pointing out that unity between the national and political forces would reform the bad situations in which Egypt is currently enduring.

At the annual Iftar banquet of “Engineers against Custody”, Dr. Beshr stated the current economic crisis in Egypt is the result of hampering the work of the Engineers Syndicate by imposing custody on and rejecting to hold syndicate elections for over 16 years. He stressed on the importance of retaining legitimacy of the Syndicate and researching the possibility of holding an emergency general assembly meeting to discuss the syndicate’s affairs. He actively urged the launching of a petition to end the custody, and to expose the violations committed by the court-appointed legal guardian in an effort to bring him to stand trial in court.

Eng. Tarek el-Nebrawi ,a leader in Al-Tagamoe party, stated that he will be working on forming a union for all professions calling for the freedom and lifting of the custody from the syndicate by continuous communications with engineers within Egypt. He asserted he would do all that is necessary to lift the custody, including organizing protests, strikes, & rallies, as well as, continuing to communicate with Arab and international bodies to view pressing issues of Egyptian engineers.
