MB MP criticizes Interior Ministry for spying on teachers

The MP submitted a statement to the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior asserting, that the Sherbin Education Department received a letter reading “important and very urgent” from the Security Services. The statement asked the education department’s administrator for information about teachers and staff working there. The memo called on the administration to name the employees there and group them into categories according to their religious and intellectual trend with regards to niqab and beards.

The MP wondered if there was any constitutional or legal basis for the security’s intervention. He demanded the state’s prying in all governmental institutions end, and in particular the meddling in the education department’s affair as it was without doubt a breach of the constitution and a violation to human rights. Ouf added  “The continued inspection and scrutinizing of teachers and restriction of their promotions is of no  benefit to the education system or students.
