Akef: MB strategy the same despite leadership change

Choosing Mahmoud Hussein as Supreme Guide instead of Mahmoud Ezzat will not alter the Muslim Brotherhood’s strategy, said Mohamed Mahdi Akef, former supreme guide of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Brotherhood’s strategy is well-defined and seeks to achieve preset objectives, said Akef, adding that the overall strategy of the group does not change just because the leader changes.

Meanwhile, informed sources said Mahmoud Ezzat is a likely candidate for the position of the first deputy supreme guide, although the decision will not be announced before the meeting of the Guidance Bureau on Wednesday

Sources also suggested that Rashad Bayoumi, a current member of the Guidance Bureau, will not reject a position if he is offered one.
