Muslim Brotherhood MP’s attend 7th Annual Jerusalem Conference.

 The seventh annual conference on Jerusalem will be held in the Lebanese capital, Beirut from January 13- 14, 2010. Approximately 24 members of the Muslim Brotherhood Parliamentary bloc will participate in its proceedings.

Along with many important prominent and official figures from around the world, representing different sects and trends, such as Shiites and Sunnis, nationalists, and liberals, and Muslims and non-Muslims will attend.

A number of recommendations and resolutions are expected to be discussed for the good of Jerusalem in particular and the Palestinian cause in general incidents taking place. This is particularly significant particularly after  the  escalation of attacks on its sanctuaries, the violation of the rights of its people, and the intensification of the work aimed at its Judization.

On the first day, the conference will be opened with the address of the chairman of the board of trustees of Jerusalem International Foundation-the great scholar, Dr. Yusuf al-Qaradawi, in addition to a number of leading and prominent figures of the Ummah.

Within its successive sessions, the conference will discuss a series of reports presented by the chairman and members of the board of directors, the secretary general of the Jerusalem Foundation, members from the International Network of Jerusalem Foundations and the chairmen and delegates of its branches

The Members of the Muslim Brotherhood Parliamentary bloc will underline the significance that self-defense, which is an age-old human and cultural principle, is a duty upon the entire Ummah and upon all the free people in the world. This is apart from the fact that it is a religious, national and human duty for the sake of which all things dear can be readily sacrificed and all differences should be cast aside.

The conference will stress the duty of honoring the dignity of the Palestinian individual and the legitimate rights ensured by all legislations and laws. It  will further emphasize the necessity of mobilization against the threats facing the Muslim and Christian sanctities there, particularly Al-Aqsa Mosque, and against plans aimed at controlling parts of it, outright intervention in its affairs, obstructing access to it and building a Jewish city in parallel with the old town of Jerusalem with Al-Aqsa Mosque as its center.

The seventh conference will end with a press conference highlighting the agenda’s resolutions which will take place January 15, 2010.
