MB Chairman mourns leftist thinker Dr. Mohamed Al Sayed Said

Mr. Mohamed Mahdi Akef, Chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood, mourns the renowned Leftist thinker and writer Dr. Mohamed Al Sayed Said – Vice-chairman of Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies and founder of the daily independent newspaper Al-Badeel – who passed away Saturday evening at the age of 59, after a long struggle with cancer.


The Egyptian media will not easily replace such a distinguished Egyptian writer and intellectual.  He enriched the political and social life of many with his great ideas.  He, in fact, was known for his honorable attitudes and sound opinion he truly was a powerful political figure,” Akef said.


Akef offered sincere condolences to his colleagues at the Egyptian newspapers, calling Allah Almighty to grant the deceased eternal peace and grant his family patience and solace.


 Dr. Said was treated for cancer in the French capital Paris. He recently returned to Cairo after his condition worsened and reached the later stages. He passed away yesterday. The deceased is scheduled to be buried in his hometown of Port Said.
