Renewal of detention of 34 MB’s in Suez and Sharkia for a further 15 days

Suez General Prosecution decided today to continue the detention of 33 Brotherhood members from Suez who were withheld during the past two days for further investigations after they were charged with indictments similar to those included in all of the Brotherhood’s cases!

The director of Deportations prevented the Brotherhood detainees from having their meal (Iftar) or even drinking water. The situation continued for two hours after the sunset call for prayers.

The MB detainees were:

1. Tarek Issa (an accountant at the Financial Directorate in Suez),

2. Osama Issa (an accountant at the Customs office in Suez)

3. Reza Dasuki (an accountant at the Red Sea Port Authority in Suez)

4. Mustafa Mohameden (a school Director)

5. Dr Adel Amer (works at the Institute of Marine Sciences)

6. Islam Abdel Azim (a teacher)

7. Noah Deraz (a chemist at an oil pipeline company)

8. Misbah Abu Satti (Director of the Canal Electric Company)

9. Ahmed Shabana (an engineer at the National Steel Company)

10. Ayman Desouki (an engineer at the Red Sea Ports Authority)

In related circumstances, the Faqous Prosecution in Sharqiya Governorate renewed the detention of Mohamed Hassan Al Zayyat, owner of the Islamic bookstore Da"wa in Fakous in custody for a further 15 days. The Court has rejected an appeal filed by Dr. Sayed Abdul Aal Shousha (dentist) from Manshiet Abdoun village, Fakous in opposition to his continued detention for a further 15 days pending investigations. Fakous police forces on Sunday, August 23rd, 2009 raided the houses of four Brotherhood members and arrested them. Another three MB movement members who were released were immediately arrested after an arrest warrant was issued against them and Dr. Shusha was ordered to remain detained for a further 15 days pending investigations and placed in the Zagazig public prison.
