Abu Marzouk: Dialog targets release of Hamas detainees alive

Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk, the deputy political bureau chairman of Hamas, has said that the national dialog among Palestinian factions targets releasing all kidnapped supporters and cadres alive.

Abu Marzouk told the PIC on Monday that the killing of Hamas affiliates in jails controlled by Fatah-affiliated security apparatuses in the West Bank would not “pass easily”.

There is no meaning for dialog unless those security forces” practices come to a complete halt and unless all those kidnapped are freed, he elaborated.

The Hamas leader said that those forces act in line with agreements with the Israeli occupation authority that would have “serious repercussions” on dialog.

He pointed out that any Palestinian reconciliation agreement should be preceded by a change in the security conditions in the West Bank.

“We won”t start (new) dialog until we see results on the ground toward what is happening in the West Bank,” Abu Marzouk concluded.
