MB Leader: Transfer of Civilians to Military Courts is a Proof of Political Weakness

Dr. Mohamed Gamal Heshmat, well known MB leader, has rejected the transfer of civilians to military courts, saying that the involvement of Security Forces in political issues is “unacceptable”, he added, this deliberate involvement of the armed military forces between civilians is not reasonable since Military Forces are the legitimate support for civilians, hence it cannot be used to lead people by force and pressurise them.

Heshmat stated that MBs strongly condemn trials of civilians before Military Courts, describing this way of dealing with civilians as a proof of political and leadership weakness of the government as it can no longer convince nor have the ability to discuss, which made it resort to this kind of weak governing method.

Heshmat wondered, why the opponents are being prevented from performing their Military Service? Did they turn to be betrayers just because they are sons of those opposing the government?

He added “Regarding the stance of MB on the military trial of Magdy Hussein, it is the same stances as those regarding other trials of any political opponent or any innocent citizen before military tribunals. He also stressed that MB is preparing for many events for the renewal of the MB rejection of trying civilians before military tribunals.

Heshmat concluded his statement saying “this regime got nothing to do but withdraw from all political authorities, as it lost its abilities to discuss and convince and the masks of democracy fell of its face”.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mohamed Saad katatny (Head of MB Parliamentary Bloc), in a statement issued by MB parliamentary block MPs, stated that the entry of Egyptians to Gaza Strip should not be criminalized, especially in this time in which the Israeli occupying military has invaded Gaza and destroyed everything, pointing out that Gaza is in most need for everyone”s solidarity.

It is worth mentioning that Military Court in “Ismailiya” has issued it”s decision against Dr. Mgdy Hussein (Secretary- General of the Labor Party) with two years imprisonment and a fine of five thousand L.E on charges of entering Gaza without obtaining the authorities permission.

This decision has been widely criticized due to trying civilians before Military Courts.
