Arresting Five Muslim Brothers Amid Raids On Islamic Bookshops

Egyptian security services launched raids on many bookshops owned by members of the Muslim Brotherhood in different parts of the country, and seized their books and all their contents. Iqraa Bookshop in Al Areesh in North of Sinai governorate was raided, and its owner Bassam Adel was arrested.

  

Al Fath Al Islami Bookshop in Awseem in Giza was also raided, and its director Mahmoud Hashish was arrested, in addition to arresting Adel Adul Azeem after raiding Al Aqsa Bookshop, which he owns, in Al Sadaat city in Al Menoufiya governorate.

 

Hosni Al Sheikh (82) was also arrested after raiding his bookshop in al-Minya governorate, where many of computer centers were also raided; those raids resulted in arresting Maisara Abdul Hamid (official in one of those computer centers). 

  

The Egyptian security authorities launched a wide campaign of detentions against Muslim Brotherhood members and many Islamic bookshops they own, as the security forces raided many Islamic bookshops in last September.
