The Muslim Brotherhood declares that the group will field no more than 20 candidates in coming June Shura Council elections.
Dr. Mohamed Habib, the first deputy chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), told Ikhwanweb that the group will field no more than 20 candidates in the coming Shura Council elections scheduled to be held next June.
Habib confirmed that this attitude agrees is at par with what the group has previously declared regarding its belief in participating in the popular and political action due to the legitimate and constitutional duties and the group’s seeking reform through constitutional and legal channels .
Regarding the mechanisms and procedures of nomination, Habib pointed out that they will be based on governorate’s conditions and capabilities as much as picking up candidates and time of staring election campaigns are concerned.
When asked about the slogan "Islam is the solution", the MB’s first deputy chairman confirmed that this slogan is a main source of authority for the nation, and it conforms with the second article of the constitution, and the Administrative Court has issued a ruling of approving this slogan; so, the slogan isn’t conflicting with the constitution or law.
