Blogger Abdul Moneim Mahmoud Jailed 15 Days

Egyptian blogger and Ikhwanweb journalist Abdul Moneim Mahmoud is jailed for 15 days pending investigations.
 
Shubra Al Khaymah prosecution investigated with journalist and blogger Abdul Moneim Mahmoud after arresting on Sunday at dawn.
 
The prosecution accused Abd Al-Moneim of belonging to an outlawed group, possession of photos that may harm public security (i.e. photos  of the Cooperation Institute students), and holding underground organizational meetings that may harm public security.
 
It decided, at the end of the investigation, to jail blogger Abdul Moneim Mahmoud fifteen days under investigation.

For his part, lawyer Ahmed Helmi, manager of Hurriya (Freedom) Center for Ppolitical Rights and Supporting Democracy, said that arresting Abd Al-Moneim is part of a continuous campaign against freedom of speech and a fierce attack against any active Egyptian opposition, including bloggers and journalists.
