University Students Demonstrate Across Egypt On Eve of MB Military Trial Verdict

One day before the Tuesday Feb, 26th sentencing session of the military trial against 40 Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leaders, more than 3000 students staged a demonstration inside Cairo University campus. They called for releasing the MB leaders who were referred to a military tribunal a year ago and are sill standing trial although they received four acquitals from civilian courts.

It is worth mentioning that the case includes Khairat Al-Shater, the second deputy chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood and Mohamed Ali Beshr, a member of the MB Executive Office.

Also, dozens of teaching staff members staged a demonstration inside the same university submitting the same demands and to show solidarity with university professors who are standing trial in the same case.

Teaching staff members and university students at Ain Shams University staged similar demonstrations last Sunday asking for the same demands of releasing the 40 MB leaders who face groundless charges.

These are part of many activities carried out last week in which both university professors and  unionists  demonstrated demanding a fair trial for  MB leaders.
