Irish solidarity delegation visits popular committee in Gaza

A delegation from an Irish society in solidarity with the Palestinian people visited the headquarters of the popular committee against the siege in Gaza and met with its head MP Jamal Al-Khudari.The Irish solidarity delegation included men and women who faced many hardships and dangers during their four-day trip from Cairo to Gaza.MP Khudari welcomed the delegation, pointing out that the frequent visits paid by European delegations to Gaza enabled them to see closely the Palestinian daily life under the Israeli siege and increased their solidarity with the Gaza people.


The lawmaker stressed the need for making joint efforts by all free and peace-loving men and women in the world to support the besieged Gaza people.For his part, one of the Irish delegates stated that they came to the Strip to witness the suffering and difficulties faced by the Gaza people in their daily life, adding that they visited many places in Gaza including the health ministry and houses of many Palestinian MPs.In another context, Dr. Ahmed Bahar, the acting speaker of the PLC, received in his office a delegation from the European relief foundations including Mohamed Nouran, the head of the union of European relief institutions and Adam Bark, the head of the humanitarian relief foundation in Europe accompanied by heads of Palestinian charitable institutions.


Dr. Bahar briefed the visiting delegation on the harsh daily life of Gaza people under the Israeli siege that led poverty to reach its highest levels and basic needs to deplete.For his part, Nouran said that he will be following up along with other relief foundations the humanitarian situation in Gaza and will work on delivering food and medical aid to citizens as soon as possible, pointing out that the Israeli unjust siege is unacceptable.
